Maxine is the author of the children’s book They Called Me Burnt Head Collard Greens, a true story about bullying and overcoming differences. She is an award-winning artist and a US veteran! She began making art from a very young age, though had to put her hobby on the backburner to raise her family.
Later, she picked her passion back up to create a mural for her church, and soon after decided to pursue fine arts and graphic design professionally. They Called Me Burnt Head Collard Greens is her first children’s book both written and illustrated by her, and she is one of our local Lil’ Texas Shoppe artisan partners!
